The initial basic requirements to become a Corporate, Associate or Branch member of FFETA are that the applicants must be:

  1. A Separate legal entity e.g. company, cc, sole trader etc., or branch or subsidiary of a Corporate member
  2. Carrying public liability insurance for a minimum of R1 million (see attached recommendation)
  3. Conforming to the SABS Specification relevant to their section of the industry
  4. Having technicians registered with the SAQCC for Fire (if applicable).

The fees are as follows:

Application Fee : R200
Corporate : R700
Associate : R420
Affiliate : R160
Branch : R160 (only applicable where Corporate member already)

 

Join FFETA

In an attempt to upgrade the quality of supply and servicing of fire equipment in South Africa, we invite all interested companies to join FFETA. As a member, you enjoy:

  • Membership of an officially recognised body representing the industry in which you are directly involved
  • Recognition by the South African Bureau of Standards and FFETA representation where it is invited to the various meetings which involve their particular industry
  • By the involvement of the South African Bureau of Standards, FFETA have been able to give considerable input on various aspects and are always prepared to put individual members’ views which could be beneficial to the industry
  • Membership provides a platform where problems or grievances with other members can be address
  • Recognition and co-operation with the South African Emergency Service’s Institute (SAESI) who have representation on FFETA’s Executive Committee
  • Recognition and co-operation with the SAQCC (Fire) who have representation on FFETA’s Executive Committee
  • Certain Tender Boards and companies require membership of FFETA before they will consider tenders
  • By meeting on a regular basis, you are in touch with other members within the fire industry and are therefore aware of any developments within the industry
  • FFETA is recognised by the South African Emergency Services Institute as being the representative body of the fire servicing industry
  • FFETA is recognised by the Fire Protection Association as being the representative body of the fire servicing industry
  • You are kept up to date and informed with regard to any changes in legislation or other important issues relating to the fire servicing industry
  • You and your clients have a body through which complaints regarding other members of the industry can be channeled
  • FFETA regularly advertises the advantages of companies using the services of a FFETA member by means of articles and editorial in the FPA magazine and other security related journals
  • FFETA advertises on the SAQCC Fire leaflets which are distributed nationally
  • FFETA provides pressure test neck rings and recharge record neck rings to its members at a greatly reduced rate
  • FFETA provides supplies of decals for members’ vehicles as well as leaflets for marketing to clients with initial supplies free of charge and additional supplies at below cost price
  • FFETA has a Code of Conduct that is available and can be attached to quotations or tenders
  • FFETA members are listed on the SAQCC Fire Website
